Event Validation Tables
The events module can incorporate a wide variety of employment, performance and general events, most often events which do not obviously fall under the skills, training or property modules. To simplify your data entry, event tables are a two-level entry:
Event Type
Event type is the "umbrella" classification of events, for example a "remuneration" event might contain several different events related to remuneration. The HR report Employee event listing can be filtered on this value. Event types can be edited by double clicking on the existing event type and making changes. To create a new event type, click on the Add New button and then enter a new event type description.
Events
Events are the sub-class of Event Types. For example, a remuneration event type might be linked to specific events such as salary review, package and pay rise. The HR report Employee Event Listing can be filtered on this value.
Editing or Creating New Events
- Double click an existing entry to edit it, or click on the Add New button to create a new entry.
- Complete the following information as required:
Field | Explanation |
Description | Enter a title for the event, as you wish it to appear in the events module and on reports. |
Event Type | Select the relevant event type from the drop-down list or click <<Add New>> to create a new one as you work. |
Notes | Enter any notes relevant to the event. |
When you add an event to an employee or an incumbent, the Event Type selected will determine the linked events that will be displayed.
